ACC, Toronto Oct 3, 2009, let me apologize in advance for the length…. Seeing that I have always had floor seats, I was none too pleased with the fact that I was in the 100 section, albeit the first row. I got to my seat and was even, more unhappy, since I was on the far side of the section away from the stage and not on the side closer to the stage as TM had promised. But after all it was KU and there is never a bad seat in the house…., right?!?!?!
Well it also didn’t hurt that I had this amazingly handsome Hunk seated beside me, who ensured that I was comfortable and had everything I needed [ no he was not with me, although you could never tell, and his girlfriend was seated on the other side of him – who was also very nice and attentive]. What more could a girl ask for, enjoyment was all over the menu. Lady A was great!!! They got the crowd rocking and most everyone was already on their feet singing and dancing and having a good time. You could tell Lady A were happy to have been so warmly welcomed, especially for the opening act, which rare, although Keith has seems to have the knack of choosing the right people to open for him.
This show took me back a few years, to Keith’s first return to Australia headlining his own show and that moment when he took the stage and uttered those words, that still get me deep down in my soul ..” Queensland I am home!” Certainly that is what it felt like for me last night at the ACC when Keith took the stage. The moment the music lowered and the lights dimmed…..there was a hush and then the shouts and screams and the clapping, all before anyone could see him! The curtains fell and the ACC erupted….It was truly a welcome home befitting a son of the soil…and boy did Toronto welcome home its adopted son!!!!!! The tone of the evening was thus set! It was evident that Keith and the boys were in fine form as the party went into full blast from the first song! Contrary to Johnny Reid’s song, Keith went from zero to 60 in seconds as he literally ‘Hit the Ground Running’ and never stopped until the last chord to Better Life and the final group bow.
The ACC was packed from the tip of the stage to the rafters and everyone was ROCKING! It was evident that Toronto MISSED Keith and was more than happy to have him back! I mean 2 years is a long time to wait by any means!! Keith was feeling the LOVE and it was flowing!!!!! He remarked that Canada has always welcomed him and made him feel at home and that whatever was in the water here we should keep drinking it because it was great! He sang, he played with the audience, he joked and caressed and toyed with our heartstrings with every song, infamous giggle and out-right laughter! The tantalizing guitar solos- yes indeed Clarence was surely in the house!!! He ran and danced and did the Urban jig and at times he was flat out on the floor on is back laughing.
Then he took to the floor, making his way to the small stage, majestically casting his spell as he moved along the aisles, serenading us with his sheer guitar prowess. And there he got up close and personal with the other half of the arena. The courtship continued from the small stage. After a few songs he made his way back to the big stage.
This is where in the words of Garth Brooks I can truly say ‘Thank God for unanswered prayers’. I am in Sec 108, Row 1 Seat 1 – remember, I was unhappy with my seating arrangements from the get-go, because I am always on the floor and believe me I tried up to the 11th hour to get a floor seat! Well guess who passed right in front of me and I mean up-close-and-personal right in front of me! Yes he did…I reached over and for a few seconds I was in Keith heaven, complete with screams of a 13 year old, as I touched him as he went by me, and I continued to scream for several minutes, which just tickled my newly-made friends who hugged and high-fived me! You would never believe I was in physical pain! He made it back to the stage and the party continued. We are all standing and singing and I notice one of the crew come up and took up residence next to me; then my girlfriend got moved back from the aisle in front of me on the floor – she was taking pictures when the ACC attendant asked her to move back from the aisle. I see more of the crew clearing the aisle, I looked up and realized that Keith was making his way back down my way. Yes…yes …I started screaming again, much to the amazement of my buddy next to me. The stage hands entered the aisle beside me and I realized. …oh no…oh no….oh no……oh yes… oh yes he is….right beside me close enough to hug and touch and man did I relieve him of some of his sweat!!! Going up ..…and coming down!!! Yes, yes, yes there is a God and yes he probably was there at the ACC or he sent some heavy duty angels…cause not once, not twice but three times in the same night at the same show I was up close and personal with the man himself… the one and only….the guitar swinging thunder from down under Mr. Monkey himself!!!!! Did I have a good time? No... no … did I have a great time? No … no I had the most absolutely amazingly fantastic euphoric evening possible!
The concert was FANTASTIC, SICK, INSANE! Truly an Escape Together, as Keith took us all on a journey where together as one,we laughed, we danced and we sang all night long to every song! I was in great company, I managed to see many of my monkeys that I’ve met over the years and I made new Monkey friends… all in one evening!! I am still on a KU High and wired for sound! Have the K1U1 virus, don’t want to be cured and have every intention of infecting everyone I meet by ground, air, sound or cyberspace! From one extremely happy, totally and unequivocally euphoric Monkey, that’s my story from the ACC,Toronto ….over and out! Keith,Chris,JFlo,Brian, Brad and Chris for a truely FANTASTIC and MEMORABLE show

It was my pleasure canadakaren! I had such a incredible time. This was my first and seemingly only show this tour; which is unusual since I try to take in all the Ontario shows! God know we don't see him often enough and not nearly long enough when he does come to Canada. This show was special in so many ways! I can hardly believe he has come and gone much like the song 'Til Summer Comes Around"!
I am trying to see if I can get down to Buffalo for the show this coming Friday Oct 9th. Seeing this is the last show this year! Just renewed my PP today; picking it up on Friday morning. Now just need a ticket and transportation! Have not driven since my accident!
How many show did you manage to take in this tour?

WOW...Thanks so much for the great review. It seemed from the video's that Keith really enjoyed touring Canada. There is NOTHING LIKE getting within a few feet of Keith when he is playing that guitar...a memory or a lifetime. It just keeps you coming back for more.....
